2 held, 36 kg ganja seized

Vijayawada, July 23 (UNI) The Railway Police arrested two persons from Tamil Nadu on charges of transporting ganja, here today.

Railway Police sources said on a tip off, they nabbed B Ganeshan and N Pande who were waiting at the Vijayawada Railway Station for proceeding to Madurai and seized 36 kg of ganja kept in three bags.

Ganeshan and Pande purchased the ganja at Rs 150 a kg at Narsipatnam through a broker to sell the consignment in Madurai at Rs 450 a kg making a killing in the process, they said.

The accused were produced before the II Metropolitan Magistrate Court which remaned them in judical custody.
