Dreaded dacoit Dadua killed in police encounter

Lucknow, July 22: Dreaded dacoit Shiv Kumar Patel, alias Dadua, along with his 9 accomplices was killed in an encounter with the Special Task Force (STF) in Chitrakoot district of Uttar Pradesh early this morning.

According to official sources, the STF on getting a tip-off that the members of the Dadua gang, which spelt terror in UP and Madhya Pradesh, were hiding in the Manikpur area surrounded and challenged them.

Sensing trouble, the bandits started firing following which the police returned the fire, killing Dadua and 5 other members of the gang.

Meanwhile, 4 other members of the gang were also gunned down in the jungles of Kunsmahi.

Among the dead are the active members of the gang, including Chota Patel and Nandu.

Chote Patel was carrying a bounty of Rs 20,000 on his head. The STF also recovered weapons and cartridges from the scene.
