Tata Indicom launches 'Parsec'

Bhubaneswar, Jul 21: Tata Indicom, one of the leading private telecom service providers in the country and the largest wireless PCO operator in Orissa, today launched ''Paresec'', a new generation smart phone in the state.

Tata Teleservices' Orissa Circle Operating Officer Ajay Srivastav said the brand, which integrated many techonologies to provide various features, would revolutionise the PCO booths and benefit both customers and PCO operators.

While the customers would gain a lot from a wide range of services the new technology offered, it would open a new revenue earning source for the PCO owners, Mr Srivasta said.

He said the company was the first in the world to develop the technology, which would offer both voice and data communication services at one point.

He said the company would deploy 2,500 ''Parsec'' outlets in Orissa and rolled out 1.5 lakh outlets in various parts of the country during the current financial year.

With the new phone besides making a phone call, one could swipe his credit and debit card, book Railway and Airlines tickets and recharge mobile phones.

Mr Srivastav said to provide these services Tata Teleservices was tying up with mobile service providers, Banks and Airline ticketing service providers.

In addition to it, the customers could also know their horoscopes, send SMS, listen to music, jokes, devotional songs, update themselves with the latest cricket news and learn about new movies at the touch of a button.

One could also gift a song to someone with a Tata Indicom phone or use the special dating application to make friends, Mr Srivastav said.
