Students killed in road accident

Lucknow, July 21 (UNI) Two children were killed when a speeding roadways bus rammed into the two-wheeler they were travelling, at chowk area of the state capital today.

Police said the incident took place when Mohammad Saif and his younger sister Anna Ishra were on their way to school, when their ill-fated scooty was hit by a roadways bus.

Saif was a student of class ten, whereas Ishra was in third standard. Both received serious injuries and died on the way to hospital.

Irked over the incident, people pelted stones on the bus and damaged other vehicles too.

However, police reached the spot on time and took the situation under control.

A case had been registered and the driver was taken into police custody.
