Pondy Lt Gov, CM greet Patil

Puducherry, July 21 (UNI) Puducherry Lt Governor Mukut Mithi and Chief Minister N Rangasamy today greeted Ms Pratibha Patil for her victory in the presidential elections.

In a letter to Ms Patil, Mr Mithi congratulated her on the victory and becoming the first woman president of the country.

He said it was a victory for women in the country and she would during her tenure as the president would carve a niche for herself and win many more laurels.

Mr Mithi said with her vast experience in public life covering a wide spectrum, her contributions would be of immense value to the development of the nation.

Greeting Ms Patil on her victory, Mr Rangasamy thanked UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who paved way for the installation of the country's first woman president.
