Official inquiry for siphoning off funds

Mahoba, July 21 (UNI) An official inquiry has been initiated against a gram pradhan and gram vikas adhikari here for alleged misappropiation of funds in the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

District's Chief Development Officer R P Singh today told UNI that the matter was probed after the complaint of an area panchayat member Narsingh stating siphoning off funds meant for construction of a pond at Pachara village.

Junior engineer B L Verma confirmed the misappropiation of funds, after which orders were placed to retrieve Rs 1,12,000 from Gram Pradhan Rammoorti and Gram Vikas Adhikari Ram Prasad Verma.
