Hooda hails Partibha's victory
Chandigarh, July 21 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today congratulated UPA candidate Pratibha Patil for the massive mandate which she got in the Presidential election.
Observing that she would be the first woman to hold the highest office in the country, he appreciated the decision of the UPA, especially its Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, to have fielded Ms Patil for the Presidential post.
Mr Hooda said he had predicted massive mandate for Ms Patil because of the progressive policies of the UPA Government at the Centre and the Congress in the state and his prediction had proved true.
Haryana Congress working president Ram Prakash also hailed the victory of Ms Patil and said although the State has 67 Congress legislators yet a total of 74 legislators had cast their vote in her favour.
This reflected that parties other than the Congress and independent legislators too had faith in the policies of the Congress and able leadership of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, he added.
