Haryana enhances incentive for vasectomy
Chandigarh, July 21 (UNI) Haryana Health Minister Kartar Devi today said the state government had introduced 'No Scalpel Vasectomy' (NSV) and enhanced the incentive amount fromm Rs 100 to Rs 1000 for undergoing vasectomy to motivate the people to adopt small family norms.
Ms Kartar Devi was addressing a largely attended state level seminar on NSV at Panchkula near here today.
She said that 34,000 sterlisations were performed during last financial year in the state and these included 29,000 NSVs.
She called upon the representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and social organisations to give their wholehearted cooperation to make implementation of National Family Welfare Programme a mass movement and create an awakening among masses about NSV.
