Criminal killed in encounter
Indore, July 21 (UNI) A suspected criminal, reportedly intending carrying out a loot, was shot dead in Nipania area here late last night, police said.
Superintendent of Police Anshuman Yadav said following a tip off about two suspicious men hiding in the area, police reached the spot to nab them but they started firing and injured three police officials.
Another patrolling team, which reached the spot, fired at the criminals killing Ashish Gohil on the spot, while his accomplice absconded.
Firearms and a motorcycle, suspected to be stolen, were seized from the spot.
On searching the deceased, a ticket for travelling from Betul to Habibganj and a letter written in Roman script was found.
The accused had come from Maharashtra to Madhya Pradesh. He had also stayed in Bhopal for several days.
The injured police officials-Lakhan Varma, who received gunshot in stomach, Shailendra and Rajesh - were out of danger, police added.
