UP: Court declares ex SP MLA 'absconder'
Allahabad, July 21: A local court today declared former Samajwadi Party MLA Mohammad Ashraf as 'absconder' after he failed to produce himself before it for a hearings.
One Yaqoob Khan had lodged kidnapping and dacoity cases against the former SP MLA. However, he remained absent in the court proceedings.
Superintendent of Police Jugal Kishore said a notice had been pasted at Ashraf's residence under section 82 that if the SP leader further remained absent and did not turn up in court, his property would be confiscated.
Ashraf was also wanted in the murder case of Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) MLA Raju Pal.
