Bush to undergo colonoscopy on Saturday
WASHINGTON, July 20 (Reuters) President George W Bush will undergo what aides described as a routine colonoscopy tomorrow at the Camp David presidential retreat.
White House spokesman Tony Snow said that during the time that Bush is under anesthesia, he would delegate power to Vice President Dick Cheney.
A colonoscopy is a test that allows doctors to look inside the large intestine for possible tumors. Snow said the procedure Bush is undergoing will be a follow-up to a test he had in 2002.
The procedure will be performed by a team of physicians from the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, under the supervision of Bush's physician, Dr Richard Tubb, Snow said.
