Britain names RAF servicemen killed in Iraq

LONDON, July 21 (Reuters) The three British Royal Air Force servicemen killed in Iraq last week were named by the Ministry of Defence today Senior Aircraftsmen Matthew Caulwell, 22, Peter McFerran, 24, and Christopher Dunmore, 29, were killed in a mortar attack on their base in the southern Iraqi city of Basra.

''They were all exceptional and talented young men whose professionalism and selfless commitment will not be forgotten,'' said Defence Secretary Des Browne in a statement.

''My heart felt condolences go out to their partners, families, friends and colleagues in Iraq at this most painful and difficult of times.'' The deaths brought to 162 the total number of British servicemen and women who have died in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003 to oust Saddam Hussein.
