Azad criticizes attack on Amarnath yatris
Srinagar, July 21 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today strongly condemned the grenade attack at Pahalgam in which 15 yatries were wounded.
He said such incidents could not weaken the efforts of the government to bring back normalcy and peace in the state.
The Chief Minister described the incident as highly atrocious, saying it only brought disrepute to the state and its people.
He said the yatris being on a pilgrimage were the honoured guests in the valley and whoever attacked them had done so against his religion traditions and ethos of the land.
Mr Azad said incidents like this will not weaken the resolve of the government and the people of Kashmir to bring back normalcy and peace. In fact, such incidents will further strengthen this resolve, he said.
The Chief Minister enquired about the injured persons and directed the health department authorities to provide them best of the treatment. He prayed for their early recovery.
