Puducherry: Anganwadi workers resume agitation
Puducherry, July 21: With the proposed talks with the Chief Minister not materialising yesterday, the anganwadi workers today resumed their agitation demanding the withdrawal of the G O transferring them enmasse.
The protesting anganwadi workers had staged a dharna before the Legislative Assembly here.
Pension for old age and widow, which were disbursed through anganwadi centres, came to a halt for the last so many days due to the agitation of the workers.
The administration was making temporary alternative arrangements for the distribution of pension and distribution of free rice for the physically challenged people.
