Wife arrested for pushing man into borewell

Fatehgarh Sahib, July 20 (UNI) A woman allegedly tried to kill her husband with the connivance of her paramour, by pushing him into a borewell in village Talania near Bassi Pathana, police said today.

While the wife, Balbir Kaur, was arrested, her lover was still at large, sources said.

According to sources, Balbir Kaur of village Talania, with the help of her paramour Kala, allegedly pushed her husband Balbir Singh into a 30-feet borewell of a farmer Bakshish Singh of the same village last morning.

Sources said that Balbir Singh was on his way to work when he saw his wife talking with another man near the borewell. He rushed to them and rebuked her.

An agitated Balbir, allegedly with the help of her lover, threw Balbir Singh in the borewell and left the site.

Meanwhile, Balbir Singh's brother Kashmir Singh, who was also passing by, saw the incident and rescued his brother from the borewell.

Later, he was taken into a private nursing home at Sirhind and later shifted to Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib.

On the statement of Bablir Singh, Fatehgarh Sahib police has registered a case against the woman and her paramour under sections 307, 341 of the IPC.

Sources said the police has arrested the wife while her paramour was still at large.
