Uttarakhand receives 1,633 investment proposals worth Rs 300 cr
Dehra Dun, July 20 (UNI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister B C Khanduri today said the state government has received 1,633 new proposals from various industrial houses with investment to the tune of Rs 300 crores within last four months.
Mr Khanduri in an official statement said that it was 60 per cent more compared to last year's during the same period adding that it was the result of the government's committment towards industrialisation in the state.
Mr Khanduri revealed that so far Rs 26,000 crore has been invested in various industrial sectors, of which 800 Industrial units with investments to the tune of Rs 4000 crore, have already started production. This has provided employment opportunity to more than 40,000 people. He stressed that the state government was providing facilities to the industrial houses to set up their units here so that employment opportunities could be generated for the local people.
He has strictly asked the industries to provide 70 per cent jobs on a permanent payroll to local youths as per the condition laid down by the government, instead of on contract or daily wage basis.
He urged the industries to set up their small eco-friendly units in the hilly areas also.
