Mah: Tricom India Limited workers on strike

Nashik, July 20: Workers of Tricom India Limited, a leading BPO company here, went on a strike.

According to sources, workers of the company, situated at Satpur MIDC area, began their strike this morning for their demand of rise in their salaries.

The workers get Rs 2,500 per month as salary. They had been promised an increase in payment after six months. Yesterday, at a meeting with the company officials, the workers demand was declined.

According to the workers, even after completion of six months, the management hasn't given them the expected increase.

Following this, the workers began their strike today morning.

They also claimed that the company was deducting money for employees provident fund and ESI from their salaries.

According to Jayant Taksale, Executive Director (Operations), the 1st batch was of 72 employees. Only they have completed six months. Out of them performance of six of them is not satiffactory which will be reassessed.

Meanwhile, the strike in the BPO firm has created a stir in the industrial world here as the district, especially the city is expecting investments in the IT sector.
