Tekelec to provide signaling system to BSNL

New Delhi, July 20 (UNI) State-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has chosen Tekelec, a leading developer of high-performance network applications, to provide Integrated Signaling System solutions to support its transition to next-generation networks (NGN).

The Tekelec solution will provide BSNL with a separate signaling plane that utilises Internet protocol (IP)-based connectivity and centralised control and routing to connect its varied, highly dispersed signaling end points, a company statement said.

It had also provided the telecom major with traditional signaling system 7 (SS7) signaling solutions in 2005.

The latest purchase order for BSNL was received through a Tekelec local reseller, ITI Limited, which also will be in charge of the project implementation.
