SR to run Specials from August 1

Chennai, July 20 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Railways R Velu has directed the Railway Authorities to run special trains on Chennai Egmore-Madurai, Chennai Egmore-Tuticorin and Chennai Central-New Delhi sections to clear extra rush of passengers.

A Southern Railway release here said the Chennai Egmore- Madurai Special would leave at 2245 hrs on August 1 and reach Madurai at 0845 hrs, the next day.

In its return direction, the train will leave Madurai at 2300 hrs. on August 2 and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 0945 hrs, the next day.

The Chennai Egmore-Tuticorin Special would leave at 2245 hrs, on August 3 and 5 and arrive at Tuticorin at 1200 hrs, the next day.

In its return direction, the train would leave at 1500 hrs on August 4 and 5 and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 0430 hrs, the next day.

The Chennai Central-New Delhi Special would leave Chennai Central at 2110 hrs on July 22 and arrive at New Delhi at 1005 hrs on the third day.

Advance reservation for these trains would commence tomorrow, the release added.
