SP leader booked for issuing life threats

Mahoba, July 20 (UNI) Tightening noose over Samajwadi Party leaders with criminal background, the Mahoba district police today booked a senior leader and Karbai city panchayat president for issuing life threats.

On the recent instructions of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati to register all pending criminal cases of the last three years, a case was filed by one Mukesh Kapoor against SP leader and city panchayat president Shivpal Tiwari, his brother Dilip and seven others.

Police Superintendent Gyan Singh said on January 1, the accused had stormed into Mukesh's shop and threatened to kill him after he failed to hand over Rs 14 lakh to them.
