New Delhi: SC dismisses Kohli's extradition plea

New Delhi, July 20: The Supreme Court today refused to entertain the petition filed by Maninder Pal Singh Kohli challenging the Delhi High Court judgement ordering his extradition to the UK to face trial for rape and murder of British teenager Hannah Foster.

The teenager was allegedly raped and subsequently murdered by Kohli in South Hempton in 2003 and later fled to India.

A Division Bench comprising Justice G P Mathur and Justice P K Balasubramaniam also refused to grant intrerim stay on his extradition to the UK.

The counsel for the petitioner sought permission to withdraw the petition, which was granted by the court.
