Rs 20 cr loss in rain havoc in Idukki

Idukki, July 20 (UNI) Kerala Public Works Department Minister T U Kuruvilla today said there was a loss of Rs 20 crore in rain-related incidents in this district.

Speaking to reporters here, Mr Kuruvilla said five people were killed, 169 houses were completely damaged and 1,872 houses partially damaged in the monsoon rains.

Works on the damaged roads would be taken up soon, he added.
