Punj Lloyd Group to set up rs 2,195 cr flouride complex in UAE
New Delhi, July 20 (UNI) Country's leading construction and engineering major Punj Lloyd Ltd today said its subsidiary Simon Carves Ltd (SCL) has signed an agreement with Abu Dhabi-based Gulf Fluor to build a Rs 2,195 crore Fluoride Complex in the UAE.
The agreement provides for building an Anhydrous Hydrofluoric Acid (AHF) and Aluminium Fluoride (AlF3) plant incorporating a new Sulphuric Acid and Oleum Plant as part of the Flouride complex in UAE, a statement said.
A Swiss company Buss Chem Tech AG will provide the technology and critical equipment for the plant while the Sulphuric acid and Oleum Plant is designed and supplied by Simon Carves, which will be the main contractor for the EPC phase, it added.
The Fluoride Complex will be built in the second phase in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICADII) and the project will serve the growing demand for aluminium fluoride, an important additive in the production of aluminium in the region.
The complex will initially have 60,000 tonnes per annum of AlF3 and 10,000 tonnes per annum of AHF and is scheduled for completion in 2009.
