Pakistan's SC reinstates suspended top judge
Islamabad, July 20: Pakistan's Supreme Court today ruled that the country's top judge, suspended by President Pervez Musharraf, should be restored to office.
''The reference has been set aside and the Chief Justice has been reinstated,'' Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday, the head of the 13-member bench, said at the conclusion of the two-month-old case.
The ruling is seen as a big blow to Musharraf who has ruled the country without any serious challenge over the past eight years.
