Opium smuggler nabbed
Moga, July 20 (UNI) Baghapurana Police nabbed a drug smuggler and seized four kg of opium from his possession last evening.
Senior Superintendent of Police Devinder Singh Garcha told media persons today that on specific information a car was intercepted near Channuwala Canal Bridge of the district and recovered four kg opium from the possestion of Gurpiar Singh, a resident of Jandwala village of Sirsa district of Haryana.
The SSP said the arrested drug smuggler Gurpriar Singh was operating in various parts of adjoining districts and was supplying opium to the smugglers of these districts.
Gurpriar Singh was arrested under the NDPS Act and a case was registered against him at the Baghapurana Police station, the SSP said.
