NGRI scientists elected members of IAGA and ILP
Hyderabad, July 20 (UNI) National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) Scientist and Magnetotelluric group project leader T Harinarayana was today elected a Executive Committee member of the International Association of Geomagnetism And Aeronomy (IAGA).
According to a press release from NGRI, which had bagged various prestigious positions in different international bodies of Earth Sciences at the recently-concluded General Assembly of International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) in Italy, another scientist Kalachand Sain, project leader of Gas Hydrates Group, was appointed a Bureau member of the International Lithosphere Programme (ILP).
The release said former NGRI Director Raja Ramanna was elected the Vice-President of IUGG.
