NDMVPS elections on August 5

Nashik, July 20 (UNI) As many as 186 persons have submitted 510 applications for 21 posts in the Nashik District Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj (NDMVPS) elections.

On the last day of filing nominations yesterday, incumbent President Manikrao Boraste and former President Dr Daulatrao Ahir filed their nominations for the prestigious elections to be held on August 5.

Among the others who have filed the nominations are incumbent General Secretary Dr Vasant Pawar and many political stalwarts including MP Devidas Pingle, Congress leader Malojirao Mogal, Zilla Parishad Vice-President Shirish Kotwal, MLC Pratap Sonawane and Gopalrao Gulwe.

The 510 applications include 228 applications for five posts of office-bearers, 252 applications for 13 posts of taluka members and 30 applications for three posts of employee members.

As many as 9,300 members of the NDMVPS will decide the fate of these candidates on August 5.
