KRS and Kabini reservoirs receiving heary inflow

Mysore, July 20(UNI) Over 1.30 lakh cusecs of water was being discharged from both Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) and Kabini, two major reservoirs of the Cauvery basin in Karnataka.

According to official sources, though there was respite from heavy rains in Cauvery basin region, the inflow to reservoirs was unabated and the district administration have taken measures to shift the people living in the downstrem to safer places.

The Karnataka Chief Minister Mr H D Kumaraswamy, today offered pooja to Cauvery at KRS reservoir where water was touched to its maximum level of 124 feet last week itself.

While the inflow into KRS was stood at 30000 cusecs the Kabini was receiving about 55000 cusecs of water, the sources said.
