Kidnapped son of jeweller rescued

Bareilly, July 19 (UNI) Police today gunned down an abductor, arrested another and rescued a seven-year-old son of a jeweller from Izzatnagar area.

Sivek Agarwal student of standard one of St Andrews Public School here was abducted at about 0830 hrs outside his residence in Civil Lines area, when he was going to the school.

Just after the kidnapping, the boy's family members received two calls from the kidnappers demanding Rs one crore as ransom.

On being tipped-off, police eliminated a criminal on Bareilly-Pilihit highway. Later, cops also nabbed his aide and rescued Sivek Agarwal from his clutches.

Besides, a pistol was recovered from his possession.

The slain abductor remained unidentified, police said.

Meanwhile, DGP, Lucknow, Vikram Singh announced a reward of Rs 20,000 for the police team.
