HC orders notice to Munnar task force special officer

Kochi, July 20 (UNI) Kerala High Court today ordered notice to Munnar task force special officer K Suresh Kumar and Devikulam sub-Collector Rethan Kelkar on a contempt of court petition filed by the partners of Dhanyasree Yathri Niwas Munnar.

Justice S Sirijagan also ordered notice to Tahsildar P V Ramadas and Mr Viswanathan, village officer, KDH village Munnar.

The petitioners, P Dhanya and Dr Sreekumari Kavu submitted that on July 12 the writ petitions filed by them were taken up for hearing and the High Court passed an order forbiding the buildings from being demolished and before taking possession of which an inventory of the articles in the building be made by joint inspection.

The petitioner also contended that while hearing the petition on July 12 there were attempts to demolish the building. Hence the special officer and other officals committed contempt, petitioners alleged.
