DK volunteers demonstrate

Puducherry, July 20 (UNI) Volunteers of the Dravidar Kazhagam (DK) today held a demonostration in front of a statue of Nationalist Leader Periyar to press their demands.

Members of the "Pagutharivalargal Sangam" also joined the fast organised to press the Eelam Tamil's right to live.

Meanwhile, the inmates of an Adidravidar students hostel also held a demonostration near a statue of Rajiv Gandhi demanding adequate security in the hostel.

Mr Malarkannan,director Adi Dravidar welfare department held talks with the students. They later called off their agitation.

A student staying in the hoistel fell from the third floor of the building and sustained serious injuries, and was hospitalized.

This led to the inmates organising the protest.
