Chhattisgarh: Derailment disrupts train traffic
Bilaspur, July 20: Rail traffic on Howrah-Mumbai trunk route was affected following derailment of 11 wagons of a goods train late last night between Chakradharpur and Barabamboo stations in Jharkhand on the South Eastern Railway's Chakradharpur division, a railway spokesman said.
Several express and passenger trains had been cancelled or diverted on other routes following the derailment at 0125 hours, a spokesman of South East Central Railway told UNI here today.
Railway officials had reached the spot and were engaged in restoring the traffic.
Howrah-Mumbai Mail, Azad Hind Express, Howrah-Kurla Express, Howrah-Ahmedabad Express, Kurla-Howrah Express, Ahmedabad-Howrah Express, Durg-Danapur Express, Haridwar-Puri Utkal Express and Nagpur-Tatanagar passenger trains were among the affected trains.
Many trains had been diverted on Kharagpur- Muri- Hati- Rourkela route, the spokesman said.
