Define boundaries of Tirumala in GO: BJP
Tirupati, July 20 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today demanded that the government should define the geographical boundaries of the Tirumala temple in GO 746 , which was released recently by the government to declare the Tirumala hills as a 'Divyakshetram'.
Addressing a press conference here, National BJP Executive member S V Sheshagiri Rao said the GO which was brought hurriedly, was incomplete and incomprehensive. The main purpose of the Ordinance would be served only after specifying the boundries in the GO.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) specified authority had passed a resolution to declare Tirumala hills as 'divyakshetram' by mentioning the boundaries.
He said his party had submitted Survey of India maps related to Tirumala hills to TTD.
Condemning the Youth Congress rally conducted at Tirumala hills two-days back violating the TTD rules, he demanded that an Act should be brought out to prohibit political rallies on lines of the recent GO 647 prohibiting propagation of other religions at Tirumala hills.
