Panaji, July 20 (UNI) Chief Minister Digambar Kamat today said the government would not hesitate taking back land from the industries, which failed to open shop even three years after the allotment.

He directed the officials to present him with the occupancy status of respective industrial estates so that action could be initiated against the erring industries within a fortnight.

Mr Kamat was replying to a resolution moved in the legislative assembly by Mahadev Naik (BJP), who sought opening up of an industrial estate in Shiroda to enhance job opportunities for youth.

The private member's resolution was withdrawn with the chief minister assuring Naik that all steps for proper utilisation of the existing industrial estates in Shiroda constituency would be initiated after studying the status report on all industrial estates in the state.
