Spl publication on top TN entrepreneurs: CII

Chennai, July 20: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Tamil Nadu State Council, will launch a special publication to showcase successful entrepreneurs from Tamil Nadu.

The Task Force on Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, under the Chairmanship of Mr R Ramaraj with members from the industry and academia, would identify 108 successful entrepreneurs in different walks of life, to be featured in the proposed publication.

''This initiative would help in inspiring budding entrepreneurs in Tamil Nadu and celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship,'' Mr Ramaraj said in a release here today.

He noted that a great deal of attention was being paid to the subject of entrepreneurship over the last few years, stemming primarily from the discovery by economic analysts that small firms contribute considerably to economic growth and vitality.

The task force aimed at celebrating inclusive entrepreneurship, showcasing entrepreneurs and giving them a platform to tell their success stories to inspire hundreds of others and unleash the entrepreneurial spirit in them.

The criteria for selection would be based on certain parametres like being a first generation entrepreneur, level of innovation and creativity in the business venture, growth in financial metrics and employability generated.
