Centre accords permission to new dental college in Jammu
Srinagar, July 20 (UNI) The Centre has accorded formal permission to Jammu and Kashmir for establishing a new dental college in the winter capital of the state, an official spokesman said today.
He said the grant of permission for establishment of the Indira Gandhi Government Dental College at Jammu been conveyed to the Principal and the Dean through a communication on July 14.
The spokesman said the college would have an intake of 50 students in BDS course for the academic session 2007-08.
''This permission is valid for only one year and for admitting only one batch of students during the academic session 2007-08. The Central Government permission will be renewed on yearly basis after verification of the achievement of annual targets. The next batch of students will be admitted in the college only after renewal of the permission for second year BDS course,'' the communication said.
It further said the admission made in violation of the conditions would be treated as irregular.
