Cauvery spate abates following reduction in rain
Mysore, July 20 (UNI) Depletion in rain in catchment areas of Cauvery basin had resulted in reduction of discharge from Kabini and K R Sagar reservoirs.
According to official sources, the combined outflow from two reservoirs had dropped to 70,000 cusecs, as there was respite from heavy rains in Cauvery basin region.
The Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, today offered worship in Cauvery at KRS Reservoir, where water touched its maximum level of 124 ft last week.
While the inflow into KRS stood at 30000 cusecs, the Kabini was receiving about 55000 cusecs of water, the sources added.
