Cabinet dispenses with controls over 'Gur'

New Delhi, July 20 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for dispensing with controls over 'Gur' and also gave its approval for amending the Sugarcane (Control) Order, 1966.

The new amdended Order will be called the Sugarcane (Control) Amendment Order.

Briefing newspersons on the outcome of the Cabinet decision, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said the amended Order will help sugarcane farmers to dispense of their cane and get higher cane prices.
