Srinagar, July 20 (UNI) A grenade blast, less than half a km away from the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative complex during the session, injured five people while security forces killed a militant, busted hideouts, arrested three ultras and recovered hawala money in the state during the past 24 hours.

Official sources said unidentified militants hurled a hand grenade towards a security force bunker at HSHS on the bank of the river Jehlum when the assembly was in session.

It exploded causing injuring to five persons.

An eyewitness said he saw two persons, bleeding, fell near his shop.

However, only one injured was later shifted to hospital, police said.

An official spokesman said security forces and police killed a militant of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) at Kupwara in the frontier district of Kupwara.

He said security forces busted three hideouts and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition, including one landmine, one hand grenade, one RPG shell, one ak rifle, four magazines and 112 rounds of ammunitioin in the state.

Security forces also arrested three militants alongwith one ak rifle, two magazines and 49 rounds of ammunition at Baramulla.

A report from Jammu said security forces today arrested a militant of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit alongwith Rs 6.5 lakh hawala money at Ramban-Sangaldam road in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here.

Hizbul militant, identified as Arif Ahmed, was going to Gool with Rs 6.5 lakh cash hawala money in a vehicle when a police party at Ramban-Sangaldam road intercepted him.

A police official said Rs 6.5 lakh was recovered from the militant and the police arrested him on the spot. During interrogation, he revealed that Hizbul divisional commander Abu Mastan sent the hawala money from Awantipura (Pulwama) for his Gool-Mahore HM commander Abu Hanif, he added.
