BJP won't ally with any party in Haryana: Vijay Goel

Panchkula, Jul 20 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today made it clear that it would not make any alliance with any party in Haryana in future elections.

''We won't make any alliance with any party in the state. Be it the Indian National Lok Dal of Om Parkash Chautala or the proposed party to be launched by Mr Bhajan Lal,'' said BJP national secretary Vijay Goel, incharge of Haryana affairs, while talking to reporters here today.

He said his party would go it alone in Haryana and project itself as the best alternative in the state.

The party, he said, would try to form government on its own after the next elections in the state.

''Making alliance with other parties in Haryana has never been fruitful for the BJP in the past. The party only got short-term benefits but suffered losses in the long term,'' he said.

Asked about the possibilty of disgrunted Congress leader Bhajan Lal and his MP son Kuldeep Bishnoi joining the BJP, he said Mr Bhajan Lal or his family members could apply for BJP membership. ''We will take decision on merit basis.'' Mr Goel said the BJP would launch a massive compaign in the rural areas in the state after the monsoons to enlarge its base.

Mr Goel earlier addressed a meeting of state working committee of the BJP here.
