Applications for posts of 300 AEOs invited

Shimla, Jul 20 (UNI) The Agriculture Department of the Himachal Pradesh Government today invited applications for the recruitment of 300 Agriculture Extension Officer (AEOs) on contract, an official spokesman said.

Out of 300 AEOs, 150 AEOs would be recruited on batch wise basis while 150 would be recruited direct, the spokesman said in a release here.

The spokesman said all applications should be addressed to the Agriculture Director, H.P. Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan, H.P. Shimla-5, and should reach the office on or before August seven for general candidates and August 14, this year, for tribal areas.

The names of candidates have also been invited from all Employment Exchanges of the state, he said.

However, eligible candidates could also send in their applications direct on prescribed proforma on or before the August seven.

The spokesman said the applications received after due date would not be entertained, adding that the age of candidate must be between 18 to 45 years as on January one, this year.

No TA or DA would be paid to the candidates for appearing in the interview, he said.

The minimum educational qualification would be +2 with science or its equivalent from a recognized Board of School Education or University followed by one year vocational training in Agriculture from GSTC/ Vocational Agriculture School or should have passed B.Sc (Agriculture) from a recognized University or its equivalent.

The spokesman said the candidates should have knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of the state for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the state.

The Agriculture Extension Officers shall have to work in the remote and inaccessible areas among other places and have to inter-act with people of these places.
