AP Govt to set up milk chilling units in all mandals

Hyderabad, July 20 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government proposed to set up milk chilling units in all mandal headquarters in the state for the benefit of farmers, State Dairy Development Minister M Buddha Prasad told the State Assembly.

Replying to Janata Party MLA K Ramulu, the Minister said Rs 500 crore would be mobilised for the purpose.

To another question, State Rural Development Minister G Chinna Reddy denied any irregularities in distribution of old age and widow pensions through women's self-help groups.

Pensions in rural areas were being disbursed in 397 mandals through Mandal Parishad Development officers and in 700 mandals through Mandal Samakhyas and village organisations run by the SHGs.
