52 people fall ill after consuming "prasad"

Agartala, Jul 20 (UNI) At least 52 people have fallen ill after having "prasad" at a house at Kanchanpur of North Tripura, close to Mizoram border yesterday.

Police said reportedly all of them started vomitting and had an upset stomach soon after having prasad.

About 20 of the ill persons were shifted to different hospitals in the district, while two of them were shifted to Silchar Medical Hospital, police added.

Doctors, attending 11 patients in Dharmanagar sub-divisional hospital, said all the patients were out of danger and the symptoms indicated that they had been suffering from severe food poisoning.
