4 'ashtadhatu' idols seized, 6 held
Mahoba, July 20 (UNI) Six members of an interstate idol smuggling gang were arrested with the seizure of four 'ashtadhatu' idols worth crores of rupees.
The idols were stolen from an ancient temple in Baniyatala Mahanpur village two days back.
The accused, identified as, Vipin Sharma, Naseem, Jabbar, Anil Kumar, Dashrath and Devendra Singh were nabbed last night during checking of vehicles at Ladpur village in Kulpahad area, Police Superintendent Gyan Singh told UNI today.
Four idols were recovered, besides seizure of a large number of Illicit weapons from the spot.
