Voting for Presidential Election Begins amid tight security
Imphal, July 19 (UNI) Voting for the presidential election began at the committee room of the Manipur Legislative Assembly at 1000 hours today.
Ruling Congress Chief minister O Iboby Singh and his wife Landhoni were among those who voted first as soon as polling began amid tight security.
Extraordinary security measures were imposed in the area.
Election Observer Gautam Chatterjee is supervising the polling process.
All 60 legislators of the House are expected to cast their votes and the majority of them vouched for support to UPA-Left candidate Pratibha Patil.
