Train passengers robbed off Rs one lakh, two injured
Motihari, Jul 19 (UNI) A gang of armed dacoits today looted Rs one lakh in cash and valuables from the passengers of a local train near Pipra station injuring two persons, Railway police here said.
Police said about 12 armed dacoits boarded the Muzaffarpur-bound 530 dn passenger at Pipra station near here at around 0400 hours and started looting the passengers at random.
When some of the passengers resisted, they were assaulted by the robbers thus injuring two people, who were later admitted to a local hospital.
After the operation, which lasted for about ten minutes, the miscreants pulled the chain near the outer signal of Chakia station and fled with the booty in dark.
Soon on being informed a RPF patrol from Chakia station arrived on the spot and launched a search operation to nab the culprits. But none could be arrested so far, the sources added.
