Sonia orders probe into tribals' murders in MP
Indore, July 18: Congress President Sonia Gandhi has directed the party's Madhya Pradesh incharge V Narayanasamy and Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kantilal Bhuria to probe tribals' murders in Jhabua district.
Mr Bhuria met Ms Gandhi today and briefed her on the incidents.
''No arrest was made in any of one murder case,'' Mr Bhuria said.
Accusing the Madhya Pradesh government of functioning ''on the lines of its Gujarat counterpart,'' he added that tribals, missionaries and minorities were being singled out and harassed. The minister said Ms Gandhi assured that she would speak to the Union Home Ministry in this regard.
