Price of a ticket for space tourism to ISS doubled
Moscow, July 19 (UNI) The Space Adventures space tourism company today announced it would nearly double the price it charges for a flight to the International Space Station (ISS) for space tourists.
Form now on the price will be 30 million - 40 million dollars, Interfax news agency reported quoting the company.
Earlier, the Space Adventures charged between 20 million to 25 million dollars for a flight.
Flights of space tourists are usually called taxi missions and are used to replace the crew and Soyuz ships which remain in orbit for six months, the company said.
Space Adventures has announced it booked two places for space tourists aboard the Russian spaceships Soyuz TMA-13 and Soyuz-TMA-14 in talks with the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos).
The flights are due to take place in Autumn 2008 and Spring 2009.
