HPU non teaching for expediting process of filling various posts

Shimla, Jul 19 (UNI) Extending gratitude towards Himachal Pradesh state government and the HP University for fulfilling their long pending demands, the Non-Teaching Employees of Union of the university today called for expediting the process of filling various teaching and non teaching posts, which have received the state government's nod.

Addressing a joint press conference here, the HP Non Teaching Employees Union, President Waryam Singh, Vice president Vipin Kumar, Finance Secretary Ravi Singh, HPU Court member Birma Chauhan and Executive Council member Rai Singh Verma said fulfilling the genuine demands of non teaching employees reflects the ''employee friendly'' attitude of state government.

Hailing the efforts of Vice Chancellor Anil Wilson for having a sympathetic view of their genuine demands of the staff, Mr Singh said fulfillment of these long pending demands would eventually improve the working of the University.

''The positive attitude of university administration and state government towards promotional upgradation and other demands is appreciable. We our optimistic that other demands including abolishing of section 35-A from the University Act would also be considered by the state government soon.'' Mr Chauhan said any decision by the HPU for outsourcing its finance department would be strongly opposed by the union.

The Chancellor should organize meeting of university court to discuss various pending demands, she urged.

The state government had recently accorded approval for promotional upgradation of 130 non teaching posts in Himachal Pradesh University.

Besides enhancing the grant in aid for HPU from present Rs 24 crore to Rs 30 crore annually with an increase of ten per cent every financial year.

It was also decided to give a go ahead for filling of 300 teaching and non- teaching posts, which were duly budgeted and created by the state cabinet recently.
