BHEL wins mega Contract amidst International bidding

Tiruchirapalli, July 19 (UNI) The public sector giant Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) today secured a mega order for the supply of 3 X 500 Mega Watts units, valued at Rs 1829 crore, amidst competitive bidding at International level.

According to an official press release from the BHEL complex here, the order was placed by Aravali Power Company Private Limited for their Aravali Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) at Jhajjar in Haryana State.

The Aravali STPP would be a joint venture between National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Haryana State Electricity Board (HSEB) and Indraprastha Power Generation Company.

BHEL's scope of work in this contract envisages design, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the steam generators with associated auxiliaries and civil works.

BHEL unit here would manufacture and supply the steam generators, while the Ranipet unit would supply auxiliaries, such as, Electrostatic Precipitators, Fans and Air Pre-heaters and the Hyderabad unit of BHEL would supply mills.

The company's Bhopal unit would supply motors, the Bangalore unit would supply the state-of-the-art control equipments. The Northern region would undertake erection and commissioning of equipments.

The synchronisation and coal firing for Unit-I would be achieved in 36 months from the zero date with a time gap of three months between the successive units, the release added.
